Privacy policy

This page explains what happens to data when you open a page on Skate 3 Browser. It covers the analytics we run ourselves, the advertising that third parties serve on our pages, and what you can do about either.

Last updated 2026-10-12.

In short

  • We run one analytics tool, ourselves, and it does not use cookies.
  • Every page carries advertising from Adsterra, a third-party ad network that sets its own cookies and identifiers.
  • There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no payments on this site.
  • We do not sell personal information ourselves.

Who we are

Skate 3 Browser (skate3browser.net) is an independent, unofficial fan resource about the Skate 3 browser port. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Electronic Arts. For any privacy question, or to exercise a right described below, write to [email protected].

Data we collect

1. Analytics — self-hosted

We run Rybbit, an open-source analytics tool, on a server we operate. It is cookie-free: it does not write cookies, and the script we tested makes no attempt to read them. It keeps a randomly generated session identifier in your browser's local storage instead, so a visit can be counted once without tracking you between sites.

For each page view it records:

  • the page you opened, and the page or site you arrived from;
  • coarse technical details your browser sends anyway — device type, browser, operating system, language, screen size;
  • country, region and city derived from the IP address of the request;
  • a random identifier for the session, stored in your browser.

We use this to see which guides people actually read. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone.

2. Advertising — third party

Every page on this site serves advertising supplied by Adsterra (operated by Ad Market Limited, Cyprus, and ADMEDIA LLC FZ, United Arab Emirates). When an ad is served, Adsterra and the advertisers behind it may:

  • set cookies and read or write identifiers in your browser;
  • collect your IP address, device and browser details, and the page the ad appeared on;
  • record whether an ad was shown, viewed or clicked.

They use it to choose, deliver and measure advertising, which may include advertising tailored to you. We do not control that processing and we do not receive it in a form that identifies you — we only see aggregate reporting such as impressions and clicks. Adsterra describes its own handling here: Adsterra privacy policy and Adsterra cookies policy. The cookies involved are listed on our cookies page.

3. Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps ordinary request logs — IP address, time, requested URL, user agent — to keep the site online and to spot abuse. These are kept only as long as they are needed for that.

What we do not collect

No accounts. No email addresses, unless you write to us. No payment details. No location tracking beyond the coarse, IP-derived region described above.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • Legitimate interests for the analytics described above (understanding aggregate usage of a small informational site) and for server logs (security and reliability).
  • Consent for advertising cookies and identifiers, where the law requires it. The controls available to you are set out under your choices.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the data we hold about you, to object to processing, to receive it in a portable form, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will answer within the period the applicable law allows.

For data collected by our advertising partner, contact Adsterra directly; we cannot act on their behalf. Under California law we do not sell personal information. Advertising identifiers may count as "sharing" as that term is used by the CPRA, and Adsterra's ad scripts are designed to honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — see the cookies page for how to send it.

Children

This site is a written guide, not a game, and it is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
